Chemical Peels

Why get a chemical peel?

Chemical Peels may be effective to improve the appearance sun damage discolorations, fine lines, mild scarring, melasma, and dull textured skin. However sags, or bulges and deeper wrinkles do not respond to a chemical peel. These conditions require other cosmetic procedures that we offer here in our office such as: laser resurfacing, smart lift, brow lift, eyelid lift, face lift or soft tissue fillers.

Who is a good candidate for chemical peel?

Most often, fair-skinned and light-haired patients have ideal results from a chemical peel. Darker-skinned patients may also have excellent results. After a consultation with Dr. Stosich you will be able to decide it this is the best treatment for you.

How does a chemical peel work?

The skin is thoroughly cleaned and the hair and eyes are protected while a solution is applied to skin. The solution actually causes a “controlled burn” which allows fresh, new skin to blossom.

What about after the chemical peel?

It takes about a week to heal from the peel. Afterwards, to maintain your new, fresh skin, always wear broad spectrum sunscreen.
