Juvederm is a filler gel made of hyaluronic acid, (a naturally occurring substance in the body), which is used as an injection into fine lines and wrinkles of the face. It is also commonly used to augment the upper and lower lips, to fill in acne scars, and to reduce the appearance of scars. Other uses include treatment of facial “parenthesis” around the mouth (nasolabial folds), and the frown lines (oral commisures) around the mouth.

To help alleviate any discomfort associated with the injection of Juvederm, Dr. Stosich will most likely suggest anesthetizing treatment areas using local anesthetic. Following appropriate numbing of the treatment area, small amounts of juvederm are injected to add volume and diminish wrinkles and folds.
