Sleep Apnea
Sleep apnea has varying causes. Diagnosis must be made after a thorough exam to determine if surgery is approprate. Sleep apnea is sometimes a result of irregular jaw alignment. Orthognathic surgery (jaw surgery) is performed by Dr. Stosich for relief of this issue.
Orthognathic surgery for sleep apnea differs from other orthognathic surgeries in that its main goal is neither aesthetic nor to correct bite, but to improve someone’s sleep by maximizing the airway.
